The teenage years are often filled with peer pressure, which can be challenging for teens to navigate. Teaching your teen how to make decisions based on their values and faith is essential for helping them stay true to themselves. Islam encourages us to surround ourselves with good company and to avoid situations that might lead us to compromise our faith.
Talk to your teen about the importance of choosing friends who support their values and help them grow in their faith. Help them understand that it’s okay to say no to things that contradict their beliefs, even if it means standing alone in a situation.
Practical Tip: Discuss scenarios with your teen where they might face peer pressure and role-play ways they can stand up for their beliefs with confidence. Encourage them to stay close to friends who encourage them to pray, engage in good deeds, and stay grounded in their faith.
