As a mother, it’s easy to fall into the trap of striving for perfection—perfect parenting, perfect household, perfect kids.

However, embracing imperfection allows us to model a more realistic, loving approach to life.

Teach your kids and teens that mistakes are a natural part of growth and that it’s okay to not have it all together. Celebrate progress over perfection.

Tip: When you make a mistake, model self-compassion and humility by saying, “I didn’t get it right this time, but I’m learning.” This encourages a growth mindset in your children.
